Oops, it's 32 floors, not 28 according to the PDF file.

It's not just the Cape. Across the country many projects have stalled thanks to the lovely economic climate There just hasn't been enough demand for most of the exciting stuff - AKA many of the talls.

It seems developers are taking a safer approach now and waiting for their space to sell before they announce construction dates, whereas in the past they may have been more inclined to just go ahead and build in faith.

3 proposed towers in a block of eachother, nice cluster and densification of the area.

This is better than origional but not stunning at all, tiny floor plates and sums dont seem to add up. 11660 gross- 5850 offices = 5810 gross for hotel - parking component ?? but lets assume 0m2 divide by 200 keys makes a hotel gross compenent of 29m2??? imporssible (100m2 gross for 5*, 80 for4, 70 for 3 ).
something wrong in this

Truth be told I actually really like it. It's totally out of the Cape Town-ordinary, which is becoming a bit monotonous now (the typical VDMMA stuff). I love the lower portion of the facade.

It's just a pity they can't floor that small strip of creamy-coloured buildings next to it to increase the size of the floor plate a bit. It'd also look a lot better having it take up the entire face of the block. But ah well. Another tower is always welcome

The "22" is also nice imho. Reminiscent of 15 on Orange.

On another note: loving the densification of the area...

I hope the final design doesn't fit in and causes controversy!

mmm This only prob i have is that all this new developments has its own style which will make CPt to much eclectic, must some how start to find a master plan for the city and not only focus on small spots in the CBD. This looks really awesome, but again its a iconic approach to architecture

as long as they don't go the sandton route with panzy stolen Italian style and start naming buildings after the ninja turtles

Oh My, just realised the Cape Town Partnership have become victims of their own success! The new building is going to partially block their uninterrupted views towards Table Bay.

I also read in an article from August last year that DHK are developing a concept for the entire block between 22 Bree and Portside
