yea poor NYC only building tiny ~400 meter buildings, in a recession nonetheless...

I like it, just not a fan of the little spire off to the side.

Is it just me or does it have a slight twist?

It has a twist yeah, but this proposal wonīt be build. Itīs a rejected one. But if Barnett rejects such a masterpiece, imagine what the actual design will look like.

Oh, okay. I didn't actually like this design too much.

Yeah lol, some forumers here believe that every building <600m is small. Those people need to travel more and stand in front of a 300m+ monster. Then we'll talk.

This. I think we can safely say that we'll be getting quite an eyecatcher here.

Wow! Talk about being spoiled. I remember the days when I was impressed by any building over 150m.

Ah okay, and thanks for clarification on the middle floating box thing.

Still have very high hopes for this. Extell + Herzog de Meuron can only result in something nice.

Where did it say this design has been rejected? I saw it saying it "may never be built". Meaning it MAY be built.

Damn impressive.

Another reason the WTC1 should have been taller. It is going to be overtaken by all these residential tower.

I thought the same thing. I assumed that this was HdeM's winning proposal.

The old WTC would have been anyway too, plus it'll just make the PA look more foolish.

Plus this is no final design, it has a good chance of being higher than 1250 feet.

In fact, even this model already is, it was labeled a 1250 footer just because an article mentioned that height. Someone added 432 park in there too.

It's not twisted, the top is just cut off on an angle, which makes it look like it's twisted

Love the facade!

It's clearly a torqued tower.

Final design or not they'll make sure this tower is impressive.

That could go either way... hopefully something nice though.

What's the basis for suggesting that this is not Herzog's winning design?

Could be a SHoP proposal, based on some similarities to another design of theirs.

I'm looking for some plucky developer to step up to the plate and design a skyscraper that resembles a 32 oz. soda.
