That massing model doesn't show facade details and cladding. But it does show the basic shape of the tower (setbacks, cantilever). The thing is, the final product won't differ much from it is shown to us.

It's over 9,000!

Personally I like it. Conservative, but not bland.

So disappointing.

The fact that it's tall is good. Everything else about its design looks pretty average.

I like it much better with the clearer rendering but it does not show the details. (perhaps they are refining this as it is still a work in progress)

Even if this is a massing model and lets say it is depicting the general shape that we should expect, it will be the details that will/could make this tower shine.

Forget the height factor for the reason of the cantilever. It came to a point in the design process that what ever AS+GG presented was something that finally made Nordstrom and Extell satisfied aesthetically. I'm going to have to trust their decision and this point and hope for the best.

Initially with one57, the renderings did not leave me inspired, but that has changed as we had seen that tower rise and it has become one of my favorite skyscrapers in nYc!

This is the very same massing model that was presented to CB-5.

Makes me think of "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon, and it makes me want to get a big dish of beef chow mein. So I guess I'm right there with you.

is it me, or does the lower bit of the main tower facing towards the us appear to be slightly curved?

It looks nice! very classy, good to see the top broken up a bit more
However it's hard to make out the cladding, but it looks more than just a simple flat glass facade

It does a little you're right,

I must say I like it, but I have no problem with boxes if the facade is nice.

Since it still has the cantilever I'm guessing it won't break 1500 though.

I wouldn't mind a design like that at all, but as several have already pointed out, that's only the massing model from the original meeting.
