Should be max build with 1,550 being where the top floor is. Could be higher with a crown though the massings found have shown the crown goes to 1,550 ft exactly so I don't know what to believe.

Anything past 1550 seems kinda unbelievable, I won't get my hopes up too much, even 1550 itself is amazing. Fingers crossed.

Let's hope it's a worthy ~1500 footer designwise

So is it official that one figure of the building's heights is going to be 1,550 feet? (roof, pinnacle)

No it's not official, articles still state 1,430 foot range... but to my understanding the design wasn't finalized so we don't actually know the real height yet. My educated guess would be that the roof of this building will be between 1420-1480 feet.

That's my guess too, tho you never know with Barnett, we might be in for a surprise. Meanwhile, more about NYC's supertall boom.

Previous economic periods show that an aggressive quest for luxury arrives late in the cycle.

Consider the Gilded Age of the late 1800s: Over-the-top spending in that era ran face-first into The Panic of 1893. Similar episodes have happened before and since.

Porters and ladies' maids were splurging on their own carriages just before the bursting of the South Sea Bubble. And luxury spending went into high-gear during the 1920s, just before the Great Depression.

The August 2007 Elliott Wave Financial Forecast noted:

The boom in luxury goods is no secret. ... There are many signs that the latest binge is a final blow-off in luxury spending.

The stock market peaked two months later.

Now luxury real estate is reaching new heights. Imagine standing in your living room and being able to look down on the Empire State Building. Take a look at this excerpted USA Today diagram.

The New York City skyline remains impervious to bearish subtleties as new residential towers continue to poke higher and higher... The amazing breadth of the City’s latest tall-building boom [includes] eight separate residential towers either under construction or in the planning stage. In November, the flurry was topped off by the unveiling of the Nordstrom Tower, a 1,423-foot condominium that will be built in midtown Manhattan. If and when it is complete, it will surpass the current world’s-tallest residential building, the Princess Tower in Dubai.

Luxury residential development reaches beyond Manhattan, and the just-published March Financial Forecast updates you on where else the "skyscraper indicator" is flashing a warning.
Pretty much all those towers except HY tower D will be under construction this year.

That diagram does them a tremendous disservice. They're more than just black oblongs. They're everything from beautiful spires to elegant glass shards.

Just taking a wild guess, but I'm going to say excavation for the foundation is getting close to completion, and they will finalize the details for the design/iron out any problems before proceeding with the foundation.

That video gives some great looks.

Things are humming along, but I don't think they're close to 80 feet deep:

Really reminds me of when 432 was in these stages, i didn't even realise these buildings were so far along in digging already!
Can only be a good thing

The screen capture above also really shows not just how much manmade structures are above street level, but also how much of it is below street level building up the majority of the land giving it a whole sense of it being artificial... Quite incredible really

It looks like the hole is about 35 feet deep. It will be interesting to see it at its deepest.

Not even close, it's more like 30, probably even less.

Page 200!

And I'm glad there's work on this site and it isn't one of those projects that are stagnant and whose construction is uncertain, let alone completion.
