I know it probably hasn't been updated since the figures we've seen in articles have either been 1,424 or 1,435

May I add the design is subject to change therefore so is this figure, with 111 rising about 1400' I would expect this building to rise close to 1500' just my guess.

in other countries, a tower of this stature would rise in the middle some large, random plot. This is what developers and contruction firms have to deal with in Manhattan.

By 88 floors does that mean above and below ground or just above? If it is 88 floors above ground the thread title should be changed

Site safety and security is a big issue with so many people around. The site is also very small, so it will be a logistical challenge as well.

How much longer could they possibly withhold the design?

the design might not be released until the building construction has gone vertical.

Yeah, aren't they required to put something up by law, even if it's just a rough sketch?

I don't think sketches or any design is required, just info such as the developer and safety concern contact info.

What reason would they have to withhold it? Surely if they're shopping it around for tenants they want an image out there as early as possible to drum up hype and interest.

That's what I was thinking... especially with all the competition.

If I were to buy an apartment or invest in one, I'd want to know what the building looks like inside and out to compare it with the competition, otherwise I'd put a safe bet on the buildings which I can already see renders of...

I expect one within the next month or so.... hopefully...

Maybe they have to show it to people who give orders and permission, but just not to the outsiders.

Is anyone else worried that all this lack of news is bad news?

I (and probably everyone else) would love nothing more than to see a 14-1500 foot beautiful giant built here.

No, what news is there to report, only thing left is the design, which doesn't look finalized yet anyway.
