Oh boy. The new, shiny kid on the block, One57, which is a supertall, will be dwarfed soon.

It is an understated and conservative design. I rather like it. It will fit in well in Manhattan.

Question: at what point does this move from "Proposed" to "Under Construction"?

Hmm. The spire ends at 1775 feet so it still can't technically pass 1 WTC.

Damn, I just realized that I need about half an hour to check the New York skyscraper and supertall threads. There are just so many of them! Glad this is finally U/C! Looks funny when the thread is directly beneath 1WTC.

And this is just the beginning! Next on the list:
- 3WTC
- HY North Tower
- 111W 57th
- Tower Verre
- GiraSole
- 22 Thames
- 227 Cherry
- 520 PA
- 41E 22nd
- 239W 52nd

All those towers should be u/c by the end of the year or early next year.

NYC is on a roll!

Yeah, I remember reading like two years is required for this building foundation, but who knows.. Maybe they included both excavation and construction of underground levels in that prediction - easily two years that way

I hope so, can't imagine the foundation alone will take 2 years here.

saw it in the awaiting approval section of SSP. great work, this tower has a really good design, best out of the 57th street towers. just a little bit too skinny, but when looking on google earth the streets in new york are so close together in mid town, much wider towers may not be possible in there.
