He was referring to Shvo's downtown tower.

I love the design on this. Though it's residential, it looks like an A-grade office building.

Even taller to the roof. But it will be more slender.

Yep, 1WTC will still remain the most massive supertall in NYC even after Nordstrom's construction

Yes, it will have the greatest mass due to its overall volume (combined width, depth & height) and construction materials.

Really? So the WTC will lose its title of tallest building in the western hemisphere to a building right down the street, That's incredible! A 1,776" building right next to an even taller building! Though it will have to be very slender to claim the title of tallest residential building in the world.
So looks like Nordstrom won't hold the record for tallest residential very long if Shvo is successful. This is some good old NYC competition!

Babybackribs never clarified one way or the other, but I'm almost certain he was referring to Shvo's still-mysterious Central Park Tower. He's already said there is definitely a site for that tower, suggesting he has additional insider info, plus the downtown tower project just came together; it's likely too soon for even Shvo to know how tall that will be.

I agree with londonium Lex it's Shvo downtown.

Shvo Central Park is waay down the road. The Central Park plot has not even been Iedntified! The Shvo downtown is fully assembled with no height restrictions and is much much further along to have some kind io breaking news.

I don't think anything in the near term will top 1WTC with Spire. I hope I'm really really wrong tho and hope and wishing for it to be the Central Park one that will one day reign supreme! Cheers

Yeah, that's one of a number of potential likely locations for Shvo's Central Park tower. We don't know exactly where it will be (although Yimby seems to have an idea).

From the looks of that location, it looks to be almost where the Rizzoli tower will rise. If that location is accurate for the mysterious CP 100 stories supertall, then the Rizz Tower would be ruined with only views of midtown. hehe.

It's certainly possible that that render is supposed to be the Rizzoli tower, although I was under the impression that would butt up right against the Western flank of the Solow building.

Here are a couple Robert Walpole's potential locations for Shvo on CP:

Quote:
(1) 16-18 W 57th, which -- I believe -- is adjacent to a 56th St development site formerly occupied by the American Cancer Society;
(2) 52-56 W 57th with (or without) the market-rate rental next door; or
(3) the Director's Guild at 110 W 57th.
52-56 W 57th would be right about where that render is, but on the south side of 57th, so it would not block Rizzoli views (more like the other way around). 16-18 W 57th would be directly behind Solow, and the Directors' Guild site would put it directly behind 111.

In any case, this is veering a little off-topic, although I think it's alright to discuss a tower's immediate neighbors.

Also, whoever did that render may have meant to depict a potential Shvo CP or Rizzoli tower, but they came astoundingly close to what 225 actually wound up looking like.

That looks like the Hadassah site, which is located at 50 W 58th. Where did that rendering come from?

There's an extended stay hotel next to Hadassah which could become part of the site.

Also, the Hadassh developer surely will coordinate with Witcoff who owns the Park Lane. He will want views to the south, and Gadassah will want park views to the north .

I like the location of this building. It is in the middle of the island, directly behind the Empire State Building. Very symmetrical.

That blew my mind! I don't think that could happen because, as you said, it would have to be really skinny, but it could happen. If a building were to surpass 1WTC I'd prefer it to be in Midtown, though, so it could still be the king of downtown. But just the thought of 22 Thames Street dwarfing the whole entire WTC would be crazy!

I think that in order for shoo's tower to surpass Nordstrom he would have to acquire more land adjacent to 22 Thames. This was suggested a while back but I wouldn't be able to find the posts. Otherwise I think that this is off topic and we should move this conversation to the appropriate thread
I know I am a hypocrite.
