I see Marco's point, but Manhattan scrapers already have really choppy proportions. It's not like this will be built among a sea of perfectly proportioned, Miesian-like scrapers like in downtown Houston. Plus with the new supertalls rising in that area it won't look as out of place.

Is the Liebherr there to set up the tower crane/s? Or is it just to start off with lifting certain items into the hole?

220 CPS is in front of Nordstrom, i.e. closer to the park, hence the address.

They have to get those excavation machines down there and out of there somehow without the ramp, since they have to remove it to build the foundation.

Obviously. I was responding to the suggestion that they would start setting up the tower crane with this liebherr which clearly isn't the case.

If I am not wrong those machines are to break the rock and continue digging. I don't know about the rock, but it's a really hard one as far as I know.

I've found out what this machines are. They are pneumatic drillers. But what i do not understand is why are they using drillers? If they want to break rock they should use hammers....
