It says 1490 ft in that document. 10 more to go to reach 1500 ft, but 80 is good for me as well.

1,490 is to the highest occupied floor. In Yimby's schematic, the height to HOF is 1,428' (versus 1,490') here. The parapet adds another 50'. Thus, assuming the parapet remains the same, this should be 1,540.

Given the value of very high apartments, adding 50' makes sense.

I wonder if they'll tweak the spires height to keep it's proportions with the tower the same as it is with the current design we've seen?
Would make it taller than 1WTC

I doubt it. 1776 is a symbolic number related to Sep 11th.

No, it isn't.

It is. You're not even American, so what's the basis of your assertion?

That's symbolic of the birth of our nation. (Ever here of the Declaration of Independence?)

I know that "Dr. No" stated it had no relevance. He doesn't understand that it's symbolic of American liberty, which is celebrated in the rebirth of the WTC.

This tower will be a magnificent addition to New York City. The Nordstrom at the base is also exciting; it signifies the westward expansion of Midtown.

I was just reading about One Hyde Park in London. While this tower may not have panic rooms and bulletproof glass, it is going to be targeting the same pool of buyers, and I think it will be a major hit.

New York, New York!

1776 is a year. It's a year that occurred before the 11th September, 2001. This is because time is linear. It had symbolic importance to America before 11/9 even happened.

If you can't understand the relationship between 1776 and the New WTC then what can I say?

This thread is about Nordstrom, lads. Please don't spam it.

The current topic is whether or not the Nordstrom spires should be increased in height along with the roof/parapet, and dispelling idiotic counter-arguments is part of that topic.

You're argumentative and add nothing to this forum.

This looks amazing as is, but imagine this view with: (1) One Vandy; (2) Steinway; (3) Verre; (4) Time Warner/30 HY; (5) 220
CPS; (6) Park Lane, etc.

I had a chance to meet someone from AS+GG...

I think that 1 foot is quite intentional hehe

What did s/he say about the design? I expect that the design revealed by Yimby is largely it, but for some tweaks and a height increase.

Manhattan is going to be simply amazing (it already is, but it could use some 21st century flair). There is more money being pumped into NYC metro than any other area on Earth, and I don't see that stopping any time soon! When internal strife occurs in other countries, the wealthy foreigners simply park their money in NYC real estate!

New York! America! The glory of it all!

P.S. I can't wait to see what Vornado has planned for 31 West 57th Street!
