Call them however you want, but he's right, they are real. I will always remember 1999.
Bf 12 is quite common, and European cyclones equivalent to cat. 3 hurricanes are known to happen. Cat. 4 equivalents, are, however, extremely rare.
There was a Cat. 4 hurricane equivalent that hit my country in October 1987, with winds of 134mph.

If they were 134 mph, i doubt it was a cat 4 hurricane..

Could we get back on topic though... as much as I love reading about wooden buildings, hurricanes and everything else other than the Nordstrom Tower. Please?

So you never get to go to Central Park. That's too bad. You're missing out. You should break your rule.

I live a block away from Prospect Park, so fear not for my nature needs. And of course occasionally I make the trek. I have some friends who live on W 61st St.

Perhaps I'll try to get up there this weekend.

Up to 94 floors too. Now, would 1550 be to roof or parapet?

The roof is the parapet and the parapet is the roof

But IamtheStig is right, this should be 1 550 to the top occupied floor if the filings represent the true height

Since it is to the highest occupied floor, and assuming the parapet is still there, should we add 50ft or so to the height? So 1600ft to roof?

I think we should add even more because the top occupied floor is a measure to the ground of the top occupied floor so if that floor has a ceiling of 15 feet, then that should be added too. Also there are usualy mechanical floors above the top occupied floor so that might add up a few dozen feet more too

For example 157 has a 103 feet difference between the roof and the top occupied floor, 432 Park 111 feet, the Freedom Tower 100 feet and 4WTC 59 feet

Now we can just hope that they decide to go over the 1776ft mark instead of having a 150ft spire.

They're not going to exceed 1776.

As long as they go over 1368ft with the roof, I don't really care about the hight of the spire. They sure will do, so

The spire height seems to be shrinking, though! I agree that it's not likely to go over 1775, but wouldn't that be a fun coup?
