Plan is 2018, I have my doubts, but new York has shown before how fast slim towers can rise, so maybe it's possible.

Even if Park Lane closes this summer, I think that it will take quite some time to demolish this tower.

It's surely not, it doesn't have that open air space like the cropped real design renders.

88 stories?

The last one said 94 and the one before that 92 or 93... looks like our building has been shortened?

Can't think of many other explanations.

94 stories at 1550' roof did seem a little too good to be true though.

Maybe, but the other DOB's had it at 94 and 93 so it's a little whacky.

Yes The suspense is killing me! Dang.

It looks like we may have to wait another 2 months if the revealing is planned sometime in the 2nd quarter.

A 200 foot tall spire is hardly fake. You act like all the new residential buildings have a tall spire, where in fact it's actually the opposite (432 PA, 111W, One57, ...). New York has a dozen supertalls U/C and in prep, and only 3 have relatively short spires: Nordstrom (200ft spire), 1 Vandy (100ft spire) and 3WTC (100ft spire). Shocking right?

And btw Extell just uses old permits for new jobs, it's a common practice. Don't take the 88 floors, 1,550' figure serious.

You mean like the current world's tallest, which has a 200 meter spire?

This could be 450-470 meters to the roof, still quite a giant, and the spire works well too.

Or the current WTB U/C, which will have a supertall spire (373m!).

88 is just a number. A lucky number for Chinese buyers, but a number all the same.

I was thinking the exact same thing. In any case it will be tall, hopefully it still ends up taller than 432 and 111 and of course Sears Tower to the roof. I think it will but the drop in floor count made me nervous even though it's probably nothing to worry about as hunser mentioned.
