Spires most often look pretty good. The whole spire rooftop hight is a typical ssc nerd issue. What matters is if the building looks good. Spires and antenna add some sort finesse as far as i'm concerned. Way more important than something as banal as a height number.

So basically, the first 950ft (290m) of Nordstrom's view of the park is going to be blocked by 220 central park...

Those units must be going for way lower.

Very exciting regardless!

There all of the floors will have some view by virtue of the cantilever. Also, I don't think that the condos even start until about the 40th floor. The hotel and retail occupy the floors below that.

No, the easternmost edge of 220 CPS will just about line up with the western edge of the Nordstrom Tower. So Nordstrom will have excellent views of Central Park.

And Nirdstrom will be 500' higher than 220. I really can't wait see the final plans for these towers. Obviously, they'll be completed WAY ahead of Park Lane, but that will be THE belle of the ball, and some units in pre-sale may compete with 217 and 220. It's a matter of time before a tower rises at 650 Madison and some other prime spots too.

Isn't the cantilever over the Arts Student building the thing that does prevent any blockage of views because of 220? I'm so much in anticipation of the creation of all the towers ready to blossom! To think that by the end of the year we'll be seeing Nordstrom, Steinway, Verre, and 220 all really getting going and like lex said, several more likely to come in the next few years... such an exciting period in the history of the New York City skyline. And that's just in the Central Park area.. next few yeas will be positively amazeballs as the 21st century New York City skyline(and not only in Manhattan) gets underway!

No, it's just that we are tired of you trying to be the "where the image was taken from" police. You've made your point in many threads now, so why don't you try to contribute something positive instead of being that guy that floats around trying to find errors in posts and then points them out over and over again. Nobody gives a shit about whether the image was taken from space or from a Hot Air Balloon. At least those that share such images are contributing in a positive manner.

It'd be hilarious if there was just some guy in a trenchcoat standing in one of the alleys next to the site.

"Hey kids, wanna buy some renders? I got all the renders you need, right here."

it would be even funnier if it were a certain Jewish developer named Gary in the trench coat.
