Omg did you just call the hampshire house and the essex house ugly? Those are some if not THE most iconic 59th central park front buildings.

225 w 57th is closer to Columbus Circle. The buildings in front of it bordering the park are mostly eye soars. It won't be a problem since 225 w 57th and 220 CPS will rise well above them

240 on the corner is landmarked. I appreciate its design.

It's crazy how small One57 is about to look sandwiched between two 1400+ foot buildings

While I think that the design revealed by Yimby is great, it pales in comparison to Verre and Steinway, both of which have better locations than Niirdsyrom. Gary has to hit a home run to compete with those, let alone, presales from Park Lane, which will be the belle of the ball due to its unparalleled location.

Well it's March in just over a week, from then on we could pretty much expect a render of this tower any time!

Why is that? And I trust AS+GG to create something that will compete with Steinway and Verre. Though I don't think it will look like what we have seen.

Because they said that the first official renders will be released during the first quarter of 2015

it's almost 40 degrees. Feels like Summer compared to the past weeks. Hopefully that'll increase productivity.

Work is slowly progressing. Iron beam platform in SE coroner has already reached street level. Also South and West walls has been built for what looks like beginning of a core.
Concrete support walls are almost done except half of North side wall.

More construction updates coming, you can check them all on my Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/

I'm guessing those iron beams will support the first tower crane.

I'm thinking that too! Especially seeing as there appears to be a square cut out with some bars sticking out; perhaps this is the cranes base?
