Otie, are you saying that the design has changed, height increased, and we will like it?

Dude. Otie has legal obligations regarding what he can disclose and when. By contrast, he has zero obligations to post so much as a hint about it here. He's kind enough to give us inside tips when he can, and he's consistently one of the best posters in these forums, but why should he continue if you're going to pester him instead of showing a little gratitude?

The renders and the information will all come out when they're supposed to. Thanks in advance, Otie.

Agreed, Otie is the greatest forumer on SSC, he deserves all the time he wants. We can never truly repay all the fascinating information and renders he has given to us, he deserves our eternal gratitude

Which is the new render? In one it has three black stripes across it and in the other they are more white. It's looks a lot better with the black stripes.

They are black bands where the mechanical levels are. They're 'white' in the official renderings because they are lit.

I have no idea what that is supposed to mean. I meant the releases from the actual developer ...

I don't want it from you ... I want it from Extell ...

If the stuff they released to the press is supposed to impress people ... the low resolution quality of it fails to accomplish its goals ...

Go Big (resolution wise) or keep them private I say ...

I'm not sure what you want... they look pretty detailed to me. I for one am excited for this tower from what we've seen in the renderings.

Extell did not release the renderings to the press. YIMBY somehow got a hand of them and leaked them. Be grateful we have them at all. If Barnett had his way, we'd probably still be clueless that this tower had a spire which brings it up to 1775'.

Quote:
Last July, YIMBY obtained construction documents for the future Nordstrom Tower at 217 West 57th Street [also leaked], and we translated the diagrams into renderings [Thank you, Otie]. And now, we have official renderings created by the architect, depicting Midtown (and potentially, the Western Hemisphere’s) future tallest tower.

Hi, Otie.

Yimby is posting that nothing has changed. I assumed that the design stayed the same, but it gained some height.

Something at least 4000x3000 pixels ... and more than just one angle on the building.

Are you crazy? I would understand 1080p, but that's crazy.

PS: Extell submitted two new filings yesterday. They state that the tower is 88 stories and a little over 800', which is obviously wrong.

It looks like, and the spire looks a little thicker. Some of the building's shape looks to have changed a bit near the top in the new renderings too.

I really don't get DOB filings, why don't they just say how high the current version of the tower is? When was this ever 800' tall?
