I like the name change.
The name of the building won't change to whomever is holding the lease in years to come.
Sears>Willis.

The new name is horrible. So flat. So boring.

Just like the building itself. I am not a big fan of this tower. There is nothing unique about it other than the height. This is the supertall in NYC I am the least excited about at the moment.

What a dull anodyne name. What's next? The "Across The Street From The Robert A.M. Stern Tower"?

Also, the tower has 95 floors instead of 92.

What is the current roof height ? Is it more than 450.8m that it used to be ?

Edit: I may have found the answer... http://newyorkyimby.com/2015/06/new-...rom-tower.html

It says 1,522-Foot Parapet which is 463.9 meters... Is that right ?

So there has been a significant 13+ meters raise. Nice.

Its a little late for that the names already been changed legally And thread wise, the name is bland yes, but were not the owners nor designers so we have virtually no say

I intend to. For me, Willis is still Sears, Sinar Mas is still White Magnolia, and this will still be Nordstrom.
Central Park Tower is indeed too generic a name- besides which 220CPS is more of a "central park tower" than this.
Is it possible for 2WTC to be renamed? Perhaps it would be called the Fox News Tower?

The #1 grating thing about the name Central Park Tower is that it's two streets and a block away from Central Park. That's like a person living on West End Avenue claiming they live on Riverside Drive.

A more accurate name is the Central Park Shadow Tower, because that's the closest part of this building to the park.

Exactly, that's why 220 CPS doesn't have to prove a damn thing or resort to gimmicks. It's right in the address.
