Except we're not building Pruitt–Igoe here...

It surprises me so much how this forum, even the international users, continually bash Republicans when it should be the other way when projects are cancelled, put on-hold, downsized, etc.

I'm sure in a city that is 90 percent liberal like NYC, everyone there just hates skyscrapers. Must be why they have so many. No one was bashing republicans, people hate new developments for many different reasons and they can't be pegged to their political party. Things like the housing market collapse and the stock market have much more impact on projects going on hold than people who complain about them.

That was SHoP's proposal in a competition, and it was rejected by the developer. We don't know what this tower will look like. We only know that it will be very tall.

Hmmm sounds good. I hope the design is something worthy of NYC, not another minimalism crap.

Yea, another BoA tower-esque building would look nice in this area.

Yeah, another BoA type tower would look good, minus the spire.

Between ESB, Chrysler, BoA, Conde Nast, and Times, I think there are enough spires.
I only hope that the design is as good as the height.

I'm hoping this will be a tower similar to the Willis Tower in design. I think such a tower would look good in NYC

I would give my right arm for a Sears Tower here. New York needs a fairly simple design to balance out the new towers, as well as some black on the West side to keep it from being overwhelmed with silver and blue.

I hope for something more like Columbia Center in Seattle, because Willis has a pretty distinct shape. Any box with square setbacks near the top will be compared to Sears.
