What a disappointment. This entire design should be scrapped and replaced by something more elegant. And preferable with a nice steel or terra cotta facade, and not just glass.

Having a slanted wall in your NY condo emphasizes it being a penthouse, which is kinda bad-ass considering the view

Give it the cross steel bracing facade 3WTC was meant to have

Yeah...tops of Chinese towers don't work in NY at all.

I guess you haven't spent much time on the Ping An or Guangzhou CTF threads, because it seems like every other page that someone wishes one of those designs had been built in NYC. But to each their own.

I think midtown has too many spires, so I'm perfectly ok with the change.

And while I'm not in love with the design, I certainly don't hate it, and I don't think those mockups of Chinese towers are that much of an improvement. In fact, maybe only CTF looks better. I like the current crown better than the ICC (?) one.

I really like the idea to add the old 3 WTC cross braces. It adds something without making it gaudy.

I agree. Both towers would fit very well in NY. But that isn't going to happen, so this is just academic.

as I stated before, I don't mind the loss of the spire, but a spire would be nice on this northern side of the skyline now that the tallest towers have flat roofs or sloped crowns

The latter, the ICC might be the neatest looking building.

The design looks clean without the spire, however the spire adds to the flare of the tower, from a developer and architectural standpoint I don't see why they should take it down.

What's wrong with glass?
When used properly, it's the material of modernism, lucidity, and rationality.

There is really nothing special about this tower other than height. What a disappointment.
