Honestly, I'm a little confused about your confusion. The spire or lack of a spire doesn't affect the floor count or the number of units in any way. Our best info is that the tower will be 1550 ft. to the roof, have 95 floors, and 130 units (a few of which will be duplexes on the uppermost floors).

The original diagrams also showed a spire extending to 1775 ft., but we've since seen several reports and diagrams that do not include the spire. Some of us have speculated that the spire may ultimately be included at the last minute to claim a highest-pinnacle title, but we really won't know until it's built because Extell is notoriously secretive about this stuff. In any case, with or without the spire, the 1550 ft. roof and 95 floor figures appear essentially etched in stone, while the number of actual apartments could change as the market changes.

Actually 99 floors is the latest figure. I really don't care about floor counts, but 99 is just weird. Just make it even 100.

Copy that, I'd seen a lot of 95, but 99 is in the same ballpark (I have to think they'll probably call the top floor 100 or 110 or something). But the long and short of it is, whatever the floor count may be, 1776 ft. to the roof is definitely not in the cards.

Then you have to wait for a megatall (maybe except for that 106-story tall supertall Silverstein is developing), because ceiling heights in New York are notoriously high. Many supertalls around the world with a roof height of <450m have over 100 floors.

I'd rather have a tower 472m building to the roof and 95/99 floors than a much shorter one with 100+ floors.

Id like to see a supertall or even a megatall with like 15 floors or something crazy low. What would that even look like? I don't know. I don't think anyone does.

Well, the Aspire Tower in Doha is 300m but it has only 36 floors.

Eh... a lot of buildings lie about floor count.

Shanghai World Financial center only has 96 real floors for example. Plenty of famous world supertalls (400+ meters) don't have 100 floors either so I'm not too upset about that.

99 is a decent floor count and 1550 is a monster roof height. Can't wait to see this thing on the skyline!

It´s amazing that, next to those old bricks the next tallest NYC´skyscraper will begin to raise.

That's one of the amazing things about New York City. Supertalls rise between 100-year-old+ buildings, not on blocks of their own.
