Optical or some other kind of illusion. The building behind is 220 Central Park South.

Its a shame they picked such a boring retail client as Nordstrom. They sell nothing that anyone needs.

Grocery stores are the only stores that sell products that people need.

That's because porn websites aren't technically brick and mortar stores, as in the days of old.

Are you saying the people of New York don't need $600 Rick Owens t-shirts?

I do love Nordstrom's return policy, though

None of the anchors for these massive complexes like Hudson Yards (Nieman Marcus? Boring as hell!) and Nordstrom for Central Park Tower ... just mind numbingly dull and pedestrian "aspirational crap" with nearly criminal price markups ...

Can't they put new branches of the New York Public Library in there instead? Or maybe virtual reality theaters? What about new Science Museums? I'd love to have an apartment over a science museum ...

Does it have to be the same cookie cutter "Luxury Retail" crap every time?

There are bills to be paid by somebody.

Just be thankful it isn't Walmart or Costco

You need to get outdoors and smell a pine tree.

Stop whining about the expensive luxuries of Nordstrom. This is 57th Street, a street so packed with luxury retailers that it could make Madison Avenue north of here look affordable by comparison! It is Billionaire Alley for a reason. Carnegie Hall is less than a block away. Other than that, the investment bankers don't want to push through bus loads of school kids going to a museum at the base of their tower. More museums and libraries are needed, but this is not necessarily the place when retail square footage is astronomically expensive. Just one block north or south and this problem does not exist.

It's steel that is why it is black.
