I agree. Like the Hudson Yards it would have been a tower that could look differently depending on the angle. An excellent quality given it's size and visibility. I think it would have also complimented One 57 well.

Absolutely! To me that spire looks quite ugly, there's no need for it.

Indeed, better a top part with spire like on the Burj Khalifa or on the Chrysler Building or no spire at all.

I couldn't agree more. Generally I hate the people who have negative views on a certain building or proposal, but I honestly can not find anything beautiful or visually pleasing about this no matter how hard I try! Perhaps it is just a problem with me visualizing it outside of a render.

I don't think that design is bad, though the spire looks ugly. But the building iteslf looks good in my opinion, though that means nothing now since that design was rejected.

As to the height, I think this will definitely be taller than 432 Park. The title of the city's (or eventually countries') tallest building is a prestigeous award to have for any project, whether residential or commercial

How amazing is NYC!!

1,550 feet is coming to 225 W 57th!!!

P.S.: The firm which filed the permit for Extell also lists Torre Verre among its current projects on its website and shows some nice images:
