Great renders, but why does it seem like all of the information we know about this tower has been leaked? Doesn't Extell have some kind of way to keep the design and stuff secret until they want to release it?

I am so happy that they drop the ugly antenna. It looks much more classy without it.

Guys , calm down. This is not the place for antenna/living floor discussion in relation to the height of a building. It's been discussed so many times before, It's tiresome, It's needles and don't get your panties in a knot about it. Everyone has its own opinion but fighting about it adds absolutely nothing to this construction thread. I deleted the discussion, don't make me come back here tomorrow and find the same stuff.
------------------------------------

In any case, a very splendid lookin building. Defenately looking forward to see this one rise that's for sure! It will have a nice mass in the skyline. Defenately a new landmark in the making

A bit overzealous moderating in my opinion. Discussion of a building's design and floorcount, including reasons for them, is interesting and on topic.

It was more like fighting though. Well if local mod wants to he can always put the discussion back in the thread.

This looks like an EB-5 investment brochure. Hardly a leak, if so.

Investors need to be found well before buyers. It is not impossible that Extell is keeping a low profile in the local market, while actively trying to attract funds abroad.

Given the competition from 220 CPS, 432 Park and especially his own One57, it I could imagine waiting until this building is further along and those buildings are more fully occupied before starting the local media blitz.

To change the title : with the new renderings is it absolutely easy to count 108 REAL FLOORS ( 1 floor = 1 roof ) !!! To change the title from 95 to 108 floors, please.

For me one of the best things about the design was the black horizontal strips. It's disappointing they got rid of them.

That says Central Park One, it also says "Investment Immigration" which means some of the funds for the project might be coming from Chinese or other overseas investors. However it may or may not be for the Central Park Tower. The Chinese translation is unclear.

That's the free market capitalism, which Americans are so fond of, or...? I don't suppose you are against the democratic American capitalism invests in China, do you?

Some people are against it. You're talking about a country of over 320,000,000 people. Not everyone likes free market capitalism.

I for one do and welcome all to invest, especially for tall buildings.

That's for sure, but you cannot blame those who do invest in your country, free democratic or the Chinese communism capitalism 21 first century style. This sounds like isolationism from a hundred years ago.

Its not that I mind foreign investment. I certainly welcome people to come and work with us.

The issue is when a non-democratic government starts having economic influence. And while it is true that this appears to be a private venture, the sad fact is that many PRC investments have ties to the government, either explicitly or through back-channels.

I simply can not approve of a government getting influence when it is acting aggressively to its neighbors (who are also our allies) and is repressing culture and human rights.

Then there's the allegations of corruption in several recent contracts for new subway cars in Boston and Chicago.

It's for the EB-5 program....
They're marketing it to buyers, just as they will shop it around, domestically. The developer wants enough deposits to secure financing; [s]he could care less what the country of origin is.

It's also strange to me that people can't grasp that a lot of the financing that is behind the significant development in China, the past few decades, was a result of FDI; but feel so nativist when those [American] capital outflows become [Chinese] inflows. This is how global trade/investment operates...
