Architects of record

also great American architects use architects of records I do not know precisely why '. one example: teh wonderfull alice tully hall: Diller scofidio renfro but architect of records Fox e Fowle(io think years in experience construction system in this place).however if you need adamson you do a great complex project.Adamson is also arch of records in Tour de verre .

For the Girasole, that's the announced height. For GCT, there is no official height, though the proposed renderings indicate something of that rough height.

Obviously though nothing is 100% definite until a official building application is filed with the city.

Would like to know this as well, I know The Girasole is going to be 1000ft+ but news to me on the 1400ft mark. Great news if true.

I know on the GCT the renderings looked "tall" so maybe that is why the assumption

^Likely to exceed 600m? The tallest you can build in America is 2000ft, or 610m, and that is by no means a guarantee for Grand Central.

Yeah, I think he is making those numbers up. I haven't heard anything about Girasole being over 400m, and I definitely haven't heard anything about GCT being 2000m

I assume you mean 2000 feet not meters, but from this article about the Girasole:

"The residential structure CIM Group and Harry Macklowe plan for 432 Park Avenue is slated to reach 1,398 feet in 2016, and even later, the GiraSole tower proposed for 11th Avenue could rise to a similar height."

Key word from that article is obviously, could. But since the Girasole can't start until the 7 train extension is done, construction can't start until 4Q 2015 if I recall. I think the market should be better by then, but it's still a couple years away at best, regardless of the market.

The GCT should be 350/400 without any trouble, given the rezoning, the size of the site, and the fact that the new zoning will allow for FAR bonuses for sites like that one that have a huge presence on north-south avenues. But since rezoning hasn't even passed yet, and we thus don't know the precise details, it seems silly to make predictions. I believe rezoning will pass, and the developer seems very intent on building a skyline changer here, but the first building permits won't be issued until 2017ish (to let the Hudson Yards, and WTC fill), I just think it's too far out to make predictions. Again, 350 meters wouldn't at all surprise me, but we need to know the details of rezoning before anything.

Anyways, let's keep this thread on topic...

It was announced in an article at the beginning of the year that Girasole could reach the 1500 range

Girasole is already so long in the proposed phase that I doubt if there is demand for such a huge tower. (still no tenants after all these years)

It has a large residential component, and its site has been commandeered by the MTA for years for development of the new subway line. It will be built.

As I posted almost directly above your post, Girasole can not start construction until the MTA is finished with the 7 train extension in the 4Q of 2015. The lack of updates on that building is not indicative of a lack market viability or interest, but is rather an indication that the building can not physically start construction for 3 years, so delivery of any commercial space (which there is 1.2M sf of in the 1,005 foot design) can not be done until say 2018-2019.

As the 7 train extension starts to wind down, I fully expect news to pick up, as construction can be undertaken sooner. Actually, I'd be surprised if the developer wasn't already marketing the tower to companies who's leases expire in the 2018-2020 period.

Anyways...
