The ICC stands out in Kowloon as well, as it would in any other place including the other side of Victoria Harbor or even Dubai.

I suppose he's talking about the tallest towers in NYC compared to the latest boom cities in China/ME.

The I.CC. is a lame box. It adds nothing to Kowloon's skyline other than its height.

I find it to be a pleasing box. it doesn't try too hard and it compliments 2IFC on the other side of Victoria Bay really well. That's just me of course.

The ICC is a box, but its sides taper and curve at the top and bottom of the building. Also, it's more of a blue color whereas 432 is moreover silver. Also, 432 Park is extremely skyinny, and by square footage it will be in the neighborhood of 17-20% of the ICC's. That's probably the main difference. I quite like the ICC, but 432 Park just doesn't do it for me.

I am not against boxy buildings, but I have to say that there are boxes and boxes.

First, I don't find the ICC boxy, look at a picture of it, the facades have a slight and elegant curve, with a special treatment of the corners and it doesn't have a plain courtain wall either.

The NYTimes building is rather boxy, but I consider it has a exquisite, yet simple facade design.

The destroyed twin towers were a pair of boxes, but their size, the fact that they were two of them, the way they were arranged, diagonally, make them an authentic icon in the NY skyline. They have also a good and very simple facade design.

Park 432 is not one of my favorite building but I don't find it bad either.

For this one, I think it should have some kind of sharp crown in order to somehow blend with the ESB.

I hope it will be much more massive than the extremely slender 432 Park.

This looks to be a bit out of proportion. It looks to be nearly double the height of One 57 which is 1000 ft tall and much taller than the top of the ESB antenna, which is 1,450 ft tall (and 20 blocks further south / in foreground).
