Minneapolis has to have one of the most underrated skylines in the country. I'd love to see something like Wells Fargo Center go up.

1WTC is about 1600 feet tall now, that's where 225W57th's roof will be. Crazy.

Something around the height of your ICC would be perfect for NYC.

How about something like this old proposal?

i like triangular shapes/footprints, but i can't imagine we'll see one here.

Wow, didn't know about that old proposal at the Goldman Sachs Building location, looks like 400+m. But that design won't come here.

Man, if this does reach 500m, New York will really be back on the skyscraper map.

Yeah, except maybe for the period between 2002 and 2009, when Lower Manhattan looked kind of empty (no WTC) and flat (many towers at similar height). Midtown fortunately always ruled.

This tower will probably break the 500m mark although it's not that important. 480, 490, 500, 510m - it really doesn't make much of a difference to the human eye.

I should have rephrased that. The supertall map would have been better wording. New York hasn't had a building in the top 10 world's tallest for over 10 years, and this could do it.

to reach the top ten with a 500m tall building they've to hurry up, the top 10 will be full of megatalls and 500m+ towers in the next years

Yeah, key word "could". I imagine it will by roof height, however.

I can't imagine there being anything substantial at the top if this indeed cracked 500m. The FAR would cut down the bulk up there.
