It's the most recently filed permit, but many more will follow.

In my opinion, 2000 feet would not look very good on the skyline. The 1550 version as portrayed in some fan-made renders already has a incredible dominance on the skyline.

Going beyond superficial aesthetics, I don't support building a tower that doesn't fit demand. It's this kind of overbuilding that creates useless expenses and creates a fall sense of security about the economy. 432 Park already has 30% of units sold, which exemplifies a demand for luxury housing.

This a problem in Dubai, where vast overbuilding produces empty shells that really don't contribute to the economy or the life of a city.

Dubai is also a static, dull, plastic, inorganic piece of crap anyway. There's no variables that are fun to look at in a planned or semi-planned city.

im sure if this tower were to be 2000 feet it would be filled up just as fast as all the others

Still 1550 ft tall. Little reason to speculate about 2000 ft. That's just wishful thinking.

^ Absolutely!

..... But Barnett did say in a article a couple of days ago that 225 W 57th street could go even higher if he can assemble more air rights.

Maybe this is the reason he is selling (his non core assets) the property near Solow building on 57th street? To use proceeds to purchase more air rights for this puppy and his other projects??

That's true, and anyway, 1,550 is to the highest occupied floor. A crown could easily add another 150 feet.

Why should it, it will have other records such as the highest floor and roof height in the western hemisphere. And the third talllest tower by roof height has the heighest floor at 1555 feet.

DOB records don't show building height. They only measure to highest occupied floor.

I have no idea is 2000 ft. is or isn't wishful thinking, but there's nothing you can get from the DOB records that would indicate one way or the other.

I highly doubt that this tower will be 2, 000 feet tall.
