Not sure if the number of units has been discussed on here, but this article (discussing the most iconic buildings of the decade in NYC) says 225 W 57th will have 233 residential units.

http://therealdeal.com/issues_articl...of-the-decade/

EDIT: using the search function for "233" in this thread, I see that it has been discussed, but I'll leave the article up anyway, as some might find it interesting.

Personally, I'd like to see another spire supertall rise somewhere in New York, maybe this will be the one.

Barnett explicitly said no spire. Maybe 1 Vanderbilt will have one.

Hahaha, that ring was so ugly. The towers without it were quite nice, though.

I'm rooting for a 1550ft version of the Hong Kong AIG Tower here:

Though it would have to be considerably slimmer than that. Residential buildings need to be slim to allow for maximum number of rooms with windows

The site is cleared and ready to go, once some residual bricks are removed! Here it is from last Wednesday Night.

I haven't been through there for over a week. Is the old MW building (I.e., 225 W 57th) gone already?

It's weird man, not approved yet and already going to dig the ground.
Are the days of approval and ground breaking coinciding?

It's approved. It's just simply that the renders have yet to be released. It's not uncommon
