They are working this building from the back side (58 st side) as they have more room there...not much to see from 57...appear to be still gutting interior...but I bet demo of the structure will happen very soon

So at point should they start building a floor per week? Can't wait to start seeing this pup rise higher.

Today I caught my self saying "I want a 500m tall box at 225W57th". I guess all that talk about 432 PA being boxy etc. rubbed off on me somehow...

the first time i saw one57 made me feel like god damn crazy hell what the stick!!
The base will be wider for 225 West 57th, yes, but after taking into account the square footage per floor, number of floors, and floor height, One57 averages 11,800 square feet per floor, while this tower averages 13,636 square feet per floor at the proposed height and space. However, One57 has an average floor height of 13.4 feet, while this tower has an average floor height of 17.6 feet. Average width to height ratio for One57 is 1:9.283, while 225 West 57th will have one of 1:12.845. When I said it should be skinnier, I meant to say its width to height ratio would be greater, thus meaning it will look skinnier. It will be slightly wider, bit considerably taller.

Can't agree more, that's the only negative point I have about some towers.

Who knows, 432 Park is a boring name as well and still it is official. As long as they don't call it We have the Zenith it'll all be OK

I would much rather have a skinnier tower than an ugly wide one, similar to the ones that exist at the very southern tip of Manhatten. Skinniness provides a very streamlined look.

Of course this needs a skinny streamlined design, otherwise Central Park won't have sun anymore in ten years.

I just hope it will be a balanced design. Not fat and not too skinny.
