And unfortunately, Petronas suffers because of this.

And the skybridge is a major faux-paux, although, functionally it works. So that is a wash in my book.

They are the worlds best example of underachieving architecture.

I think that it's very interesting when architects choose older influences for designs on modern skyscrapers. For example, the Gothic influence on the design of PPG in Pittsburgh as well as the Tribune Tower in Chicago, among many others. Besides that, it really isn't Oriental architecture, it's Islamic architecture, which can be very beautiful and ornate. Like I said, I love it when ancient architectual styles (including Oriental styles) are used on skyscrapers, it makes for very pleasing designs. If architects didn't do that, then all of our skyscrapers would just be boxes.

The Petronas Twin Tower was built on land previously the place for horse race track. Now, the place had changed to KLCC.

Another best example is the Mines Resort City where the place was formerly the largest tin mine in the world.

i love this twin tower because it's very Malaysian.. a fine contribution for 'identity-crisis' KL skyline..

i give it 9.8/10...

oriental elements make asian buildings unique and easily recognised.. same as ESB and Chrysler.. they are uniquely NYC.. unlike Seagram or Lever House which u can find similar looking building around the world.. they even called it international style.. these buildings are beautiful but not unique..

8.5 / 10

Didn't give it 10 / 10 because nothing is perfect!
Didn't give it 9 /10 because probably I've seen too much of it, not really special to me

they are great . . but if you are going to build TWO of the worlds (sometimes debatable) tallest building, then they should have shot them up another 20 floors .. . 9/10
