So thats around £8k a year for a 2 bedroom. Thats quite bad considering they must of paid minimum £250k for the property. Works out to be around 3% rental return.

Hopefully the bridge will bring better rental.

THe bridge, is there a waethbuilder thing there too?
if so then thats a bridge that will have to be crossed at the time , but allot of investors in the diamond look like they have gone on there own and just tried to rent out in the hope they can get a tenant!
The bridge is a better location but surely the weathbuilder thing is pyramid selling nonsense as far as i can see!

Its a weathbuilder for residential units and solo builder for commercial units.

I tell you what amplesou, looking at the real estate websites and the prices there going for, no doubt we're looking at 2006 prices.

Im in a position where i still have to pay a percentage, might consider getting a loan/mortgage. Anyone know or have got a loan recently?

Anyone have any idea what the current situation is with sales of apartments in dubai sports city? Is there a demand? I have a unit close to handover and was wondering if there would be any chance to sell or rent it off? My last resort would be to move there as both my kids go to school on the other side of town, not to mention my office.

Its very early days (literally)of completed apartments in dsc !

If you want to rent/sell then you better contact a local real estate agency in the uae, as they will be able to gauge early interest in dsc at this moment in time !

Dsc is a great place in the making its just difficult to gauge pent up demand for dsc as you are one of the first to complete !

I have,nt been able to find any short term rentals in dsc either.

Abu Dhabi have learned the mistakes that Dubai have done and building what should of been in Dubai.

Sounds like all the projects that were suppose to happen in DSC are happening in Abu Dhabi.

This must be bad news.

No doubt DSC have changed there fantasy world of DSC into a low rate area.

An extract from David Magee,s blog
http://www.homethoughtsfromdubai.com/

Two other news items from the UAE this week. Ferrari World – which will house the worlds fastest roller-coaster – opened to the public. It has 20 wonderfully frightening rides and will be a ‘definite’ for anybody families visiting the Region. Just another world best from this part of the world. And for those of you who are ‘Dubai-bashers’, it must be nauseating to learn that DP Ports – part of Dubai World – has had a wonderful trading recovery and is now back in the black. So well done Dubai. It is also worth noting that Moodys – the credit rating agency that is more famous for credit downgrades over the last 2 years – has turned positive on the stock.
