Pilsudzki Square (former Saxon Square, with Saxon Palace, Bruhl Palace and Kronenberg Palace).

In 1926...

... and today

Rossija building on Marszalkowska Street (pre war):

Today:

Examples like this, in Warsaw, I can you find thousands - on every street, every square, every corner... Whole old-european-stylish city was replaced for ugly, modernism city (instead of few streets and old town)...

A few examples from my city:

Demolished in 1971:

Replaced with this:

And this, dating to the 1630s and destroyed by bombs in 1942:

And replaced in the late 1950s with this pitiful crap:

And I supposed that only in Brazil, more specifically in my hometown, Salvador of Bahia, such absurdities happened! At least I become a little more comforted to see the same happened elsewere. How the human being can be so stupid?

Regarding München... I didn't realize they still demolished so many beautiful buildings inside the center, that were almost untouched! And despite all the efforts to reconstruct, even buildings that faced far more damage. I'll never understand the ideology behind all this I guess. Must have been really strange times.

The gallery I'm talking about: http://www.tz-online.de/nachrichten/...a&firstslide=1

Nice to see that Paris city has been well preserved compared to many european cities ...

It's really a shame to see such beautiful places to be thus destroyed and replaced by these... awful things
