Grønland is the centrally located multicultural neighborhood in Oslo. Situated on the east side of the river Akerselva, it started to host migrants from the '60s.

Some believe the quarter is now more populated by Muslims than in the past, as a considerable part of residents are from Pakistan and Somalia, as well as other majority muslim countries.

On a five-million population, Norway has 11,4% people coming from foreign countries. The largest ethnic group of non-western origin being Pakistani Norwegians.
In Oslo municipality the immigrant share of the population is hovering around the 30% mark.

These photos are taken (of the view (in 2nd and 3rd photo)) from a tall apartment building in Grønland district. As you can see, Grønland is close to the Barcode development, as well as the city center.
