Brussels. Centre of Europe

Like a lot of Belgians, i didn't know much about my own capital, that's why i visited it last thursday (+the weather was really good!)
Personally, i think it's a superb city. There's a lot more to see, but impossible to do in one day.

As Brussels is in Northwestern Europe, it can't be central. :p

People in the streets and cafés seem to be celebrating life, who can't blame them when they live in such a wonderful city.

Nowadays they celibrate it more than ever. There are festivals in nearly all districts of the city and the weather is fantastic!

You're right. Brussels was more or less the geographical centre of the European Union, before the Berlin wall fell down. Nowadays, after the extension of the Union, it's a city in the western part of te EU.
But it's undoubtly the political centre, not of whole Europe, but of the European Union.

It is however a sorty of capital for BOTH Belgium and the European Union.

Could we please not get into this? Every country in Europe short of Portugal and Ireland claim they are at the heart of Europe. The Benelux countries claim it because they're squashed in between the G3 (UK, France, Germany), the Central European states claim it on the basis of geography, the Greeks and Italians claim it on the basis of civilizational history etc. etc. etc.

There's no point.

It's also the lamest slogan ever.
