Yea the best thing about LA's appearance in my opinion is the natural environment withe mountains, hills, and Palm trees everywhere.

Montreal is the most beautiul city in North America imo. San Francisco is a very close second. I'm confused as to where to put Ottawa and Quebec City. BOth were very beautiful, but I felt that they were too similar to Montreal. I love New York, but I dont think its beautiful. Interesting, yes. Seattle, New Orleans, Vancouver and Boston are beautiful too.

Ive replied to this thread before, but this are my current choices. It may change again though.

CANADA
I find Ottawa very very very very very boring... and not so beautifull... Vancouver I think is more beautifull than Montreal, than would go Quebec in 3rd, Toronto 4th, Calgary is pretty nice too

USA
Boston is awesome, also Washington, Chicago, Seattle... Miami also... NY and LA are more cool than beautifull, Houston, Dallas are very serious cities

MEXICO
Mexico city comes first, than Guanajuato, than Guadalajara , than Zacatecas, also Puebla, Puerto Vallarta and Morelia... Monterrey is cool but not really beautifull

I can only talk about what I've seen myself. And I agree that the surrounding natural scenery is not what makes a city beautiful, but what's in the streets. I would also agree there are cities that are much more interesting than they are beautiful, such as Mexico (my hometown) and New York.

1. Oaxaca
2. Zacatecas
3. San Cristóbal de las Casas
4. Québec
5. Puebla
6. Montréal
7. Boston
8. San Francisco
9. Mérida
10. Morelia

Yup... I'm a sucker for pretty architecture in stone. Just a handful of bland glass blocks surrounded by low-rise suburbia doesn't do it for me!

Honestly, having been to both Vancouver and Montreal, their high ranking here is a little surprising. Both are nice, but surely not the most beautiful. I'd rank Quebec City, Boston, San Francisco, Havana and Charleston way above both of em!

Out of the ones I've seen, in no specific order and IMO:

Quebec City (I was there in winter and it was beyond wonderful)
NYC (so much to see, new and old, tall and taller)
Charleston (one of the few cities in the US that genuinely respects its past)
Montreal (not my favorite downtown, but the rest of the city makes up for it)
Santa Ana (the colonial jewel of El Salvador)
Pittsburgh (real down-to-earth charm, and some areas like around the Cathedral of Learning are straight-up gorgeous)
Washington DC (hard to deny the beauty throughout the city, which is good because I always get lost there)
San Francisco (been so long since I've been there but honestly, what a city)

Wow, I really have to see so much of Mexico.

I am impressed by it's climate. I currently live in Bratislava and I'm freezing here I wanna move somewhere where it's hot and dry and Phoenix is such a place. I have an intense alergy for cold and wet weather

I can't believe there's no mention of Cincinnati. It may not excel in every category, but in the category of BEAUTY Cincinnati trumps most others. My list of most beautiful goes something like this:

1) Havana
2) Quebec City
3) Cincinnati
4) Guanajuato
5) Charleston

CINCINNATI, OHIO
