Excellent. That staircase to the roof is really interesting.

I think these signify what Brutalism, at least at its best, is really about. Structure that blends in with, or alludes to, natural formations of geology. The brutalism in many ways signifying less negativity and more hardness and age.

[QUOTE=Skopje/Скопје;108269753]

I've been in the dense urban suburbs of Paris and the level of brutality is astonishing in these districts!

Here is an example I've walked trought few years ago. Turn the camera around. Bare concrete in every street. It was a pretty rought district. Small riots and petty crime seemed to be normal. These complexes have many corridors and concrete walkways in between the buildings. They are basically hiding places for all kind of criminals. For me it all came over me as doomed future

That's astonishingly ugly! Never thought Paris could touch such a level of ugliness, although I've seen some bad ugly districts there,just not that ugly .. I hope that's more an isolated case.. When I look at central Paris and its banlieues, it almost seems to cross two exactly extremes; most of these banlieues should be razed to the ground IMO

That's not ugly. In fact, it's interesting.

When will people stop referring to brutalist architecture as 'brutality'? It is 'beton brut'!! This entire architectural style should just change its name to something more appealing, like 'brut moderne' or something.

I agree. I found that area to be very futuristic. There is something serene about a place in which there is a very limited palette of colours or when one colour - grey in this case - takes over completely.

Basically if these buildings were better maintained and not situated in a drab area where nothing is really kept in order. they'd look quite ok In any case they are very interesting.

Actually I like some brutalist buildings, especially some posted here; but the ones I saw in the Paris example gave me a somewhat too dirty and unkept impression which left me a bit surprised.. then some may like it, I don't know; tastes are a personal thing, to each its own
