I don't know if Sheraton Brussels is Brutalism, but it's pretty brutal to me.

Perhaps brutal but not really brutalism, most Brutalist buildings are not boxy, symetric or simple.

Officaly yes but there are some differences Brutalist buildings are not so functional, they are often overcomplicated with many ramps and stairs that sometimes seem to be used only for decoration. There are also some sort of concrete ornamentations so in a way it reminds more of pomo rather than classical modernism but with more taste.

And in some 30-50 years people will regret it was demolished, the same way people are today regretting the destruction of many 19th century buildings....

Well the current library replaced the victorian one back in the 70s



and it's gonna be demolished now and replaced by this one....

Hated it at first, especially when I found out that a whole terrace beautiful Georgian houses had to be buldozed to make way for it, but walking past it every day has made me appreciate it more and more It's quite elegant for a brutalist style, and I like the novelty of that
