No for me he was outstanding in this world cup, if it was the case of he being portuguese then I would've included Tshabalala, for I'm South African, and portuguese only because my parents are portuguese.

I'll say the award will go to David Villa, although I think that if Uruguay would of had reached the final the award would of had gone to Diego Forlan.

Spain's Villa, Xavi and Iniesta leads race for Golden Ball nominees

Johannesburg: European powerhouse Spain, Netherlands and Germany players leads the race for the adidas Golden Ball award with seven shorlisted names coming from the three countries.

Favourites amongst will be the leading scorer's in teh competition David Villa of spain and Dutchman Wesley Sneijder.

The prestigious 2010 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball will be awraded to the best player of the tournament.

The list of 10 shortlisted players were officially announced by FIFA General Secretary Jérôme Valcke and adidas Group CEO Herbert Hainer.

Accredited Media representatives from all over the world will vote to determine the winners of the adidas Golden, Silver and Bronze ball awards on FIFA.com. The winners will be announced after the final between Spain and the Netherlands on 11 July.

The ten nominated players were selected by the FIFA Technical Study Group and includes football experts such as Kalusha Bwalya, Christian Karembeu, Jomo Sono and Gérard Houllier.

If Holland beats Spain then Fifas best player / Ballon d'or will be Sneijder, especially if he scores, he could be the tournaments best scorer. He has already won this years Champions League, the Serie A title and the Coppa title in Italy. So if he wins these 2 other prizes he will win everything that he could of won, and it will be the first time ever for this to happen.
