I grateful your for the support but the rest of your post is pure nonsense especially concerning Nizhniy Novgorod, Kazan and Rostov (I believe your are talking about this one which is on Don).

Well, if construction will be resumed in the end of 2011 the tower can be finished before 2020. Even with the slow rate of construction.

I didn't mean to offend but you can't tell me that Russian cities outside of Moscow or St. Pete's are beautiful! I have seen pictures of Rostov and Nizhniy Novgorod and they look boring. Kazan does have a beautiful mosque and some nice areas, i will agree with you on that but Russian cities aren't known the world for being beautiful. In fact, im glad that Yekaterinburg is taking steps to become more cosmopolitan and great because Russia needs a great Eastern city. Irkutsk got pretty far but hasn't done much lately. Sochi is robust because of the Olympics. But the rest of the Russian cities are bland and ugly and I wholeheartedly believe 80% of forumers here would agree. With that being said, i will repeat: Go Yekaterinburg!

Well, the inspiration for the whole City projects originally was a gemstones (Until they changed Iset Tower project).
In case of Ural Tower it is Alexandrite which was found in Ural Mountains.

Daylight / twilight appearance

For me, the Ural Tower pretty much looks like this gem, while similarities with Mercry Tower is coincidental.

No and there wouldn't be any until the Iset Tower is finished.

Finally! An answer
Does that mean that Iset and Ural Tower are owned by the same company?

The whole City project that consist of mentioned towers together with another two and one unfinished next-to-the-road tower brought from bankrupted developer is owned by UGMK. IIRC they even have their own construction & development wing.
