I'm not good at drawing maps but the flyover starts just after Raidurgam and ends a little distance after crossing Gachibowli X road. It is long flyover

The Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, S.Jaipal Reddy, Minister for Municipal Administration M.Maheedhar Reddy, Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy and others will participate in the inaugural.

The flyover with a length of 1.45 km has been built at a cost of Rs.21.60 crore and is set on 56 piers and two abutments.

Four-lane carriageway

The width of the project is 17.50 metres and comes with a four-lane carriageway and 1.5 wide metre central median while the service roads on either side of the flyover are 14.10 metres wide, including footpaths, according to the HMDA.

The illumination facilities here have been provided with 120W LED Street Lighting.

While helping avoid traffic snarls at Gachibowli junction, the flyover would facilitate free flow of traffic on the Old Bombay Road and from Hitech City to Outer Ring Road (ORR) and further towards the International Airport at Shamshabad.

Is this the right location of the flyover :

Smile Begumpet Airport Flyover

Hello dear Hyderabadis,

I am a German scientist writing about the development of traffic and Flyover infrastructures in Hyderabad. I urgently ask for you help:

I am searching for any information about when the Begumpet airport Flyover was built, finished and who made the construction. Every information, weblinks about construction, dates and stories would be really really helpful.

I only have some pictures of it and would like to ask all of you if you have some available.

Please, if you have any information, please get in contact with me.

Government proceeding Rajiv Rahadari project

Source: http://ibnlive.in.com/news/governmen...66-60-121.html

Quote:
HYDERABAD: The Telangana agitation has come as blessing in disguise for the contractors from Andhra region who were awarded the AP Road Development Corporation (APRDC) project of developing the 207- km Hyderabad-Karimnagar-Ramagundam road into a four lane road at a cost of Rs 1,358 crore.
When the project was grounded, TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao and several Congress MLAs from Karimnagar district wanted change in its design.
Rao wrote a letter to the then chief minister K Rosaiah demanding that APRDC should develop the Rajiv Rahadari on the lines of NH-9.
The T leaders wanted bypass roads to villages and towns and several flyovers and foot-over bridges on the national highway.
They contended that the project in its present form would not help in containing the road accidents or improving the road transport.
TRS legislature party leader E Rajendar also took up the issue with the chief minister and also the road and building officials.
Ramagundam MLA Somavaram Satyanarayana took strong objection to the ongoing Rajiv Rahadari project and urged the officials to make several changes after considering public convenience and road safety.
Now the T movement is in full swing and as the leaders were busy organising protests, the contractors were doing their work in accordance with the original plan.
They have no time to bring pressure on the government to stop the works until the project is reworked.
As the leaders are busy, the state government is going ahead with the project without a caring a hoot to the concerns raised by the T leaders.
Contractors from Seemandhra region were in a hurry to complete the road works at the earliest and as a result the work has picked up pace.
One TRS leader said that the ongoing road works were enough evidence that chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was protecting the interests of the contractors from Andhra region.
He said that state government is acting in a similar fashion with regard to Hyderabad Metro Rail project without any regard for the grievances of the locals and also their people's representatives.
Meanwhile, Ramgundam MLA Somavaram Satyanarayana said that if APRDC fails to respect demands of T leaders on Rajiv Rahadari works, he would not allow any road development works in his constituency.
"I am yet to get a reply from the APRDC on the changes I had proposed to the segment of the road that passes through my constituency.
If they do not heed to my suggestion,I will not allow the works in my constituency," he said.

NH status to 11 AP roads

Source: http://ibnlive.in.com/news/nh-status...64-60-114.html

Quote:
HYDERABAD:The cash-strapped state government seems to have a cause for cheer as its request to convert 11 state highways into national highways is likely to be approved by the central government soon.
The move would transfer the burden of maintaining the roads to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and save the state government an annual expenditure of `100 crore.
The Roads and Buildings department sent the proposal about a month ago and received a positive reponse from the Centre.
The state government initially proposed handing over 23 roads extending up to 6,500 kilometres.
However, it had to prune the list to 11 state highways running up to 2,000 km upon the request of the Union government.
According to officials, the Union government had decided to notify 10,000 km road network as national highways in the country and accordingly sought proposals from the states.
With the cumulative list sent by the states going up to 50,000 km it had asked for revised lists to keep the road stretch at 10,000 km.
National highway status to the 11 state roads will come as a big relief to the state government as the Roads and Buildings department has been spending over `100 crore every year to keep them in a good shape.
Roads and Buildings engineer-in-chief Siva Reddy said they were awaiting orders to transfer the 2,000-km stretch of roads to the Union ministry.
The status change would not only relieve the state government of their maintenance burden but would also get more central funds for their development and widening, he added

GHMC to widen 10 traffic junctions

Source: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/c...w/10636926.cms

Quote:
HYDERABAD: With many junctions witnessing traffic congestions despite widened road stretches, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to widen 10 junctions at the earliest.

Junctions at Motinagar, Rajeevnagar, Rayadurg, Neredmet, Langar Houz, Afzalgunj, Ayodhya junction, Kachiguda, Karvy junction (Banjara Hills) and Punjagutta have been identified for immediate works as no land acquisition was required for the expansion. The junction improvement works would be completed in the next three months.

GHMC officials said junction improvement designs were prepared and estimates were being prepared for the works like shifting and realignment of dividers, adjustment or cutting of existing traffic islands, shifting of poles and electric transformers and finally removal of encroachments on road margins.

A few months ago, the GHMC had identified 52 junctions for improvement from the traffic point of view by categorising them in three categories. Twenty-three junctions, which do not require any major works except minor changes like realignment and other minimum measures,

were listed in the top priority. Since junctions at Bazarghat and Warasiguda chowarasta requires land acquisition, the corporation has decided to take up only 10 in the first phase. The rest would be taken up in later phases.

Another eight junctions like Hafeezbabanagar, Kishanbagh, Nagole crossroads and Ranigunj have been put in the second category and 20 junctions in the third category from the traffic point of view. Some junctions require widening on all four corners like King Koti and Saidabad junction, which would be taken up in the third phase.

"So far, the GHMC has given facelift to 15 junctions, inlcuding Khairatabad, Mettuguda, Alugaddabavi, Monappa island, Moosarambagh, Tilaknagar and Golnaka (Amberpet), in the last few years. Presently, the works are going on at Mythrivanam and SR Nagar," GHMC executive engineer (Projects) V S Mohan told TOI.

Meanwhile, the traffic police have also suggested changes for other 80 junctions. While most of them fall under the GHMC's jurisdiction, some are in the Cantonment area, Hyderabad Metro Rail corridors and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority area.

Wondering if any one has recently travelled through the route Narketpally > Nalgonda > Pidugurally and beyond. If so, any sign of progress upgrading this highway to 4-lanes......Ramky Infra and IL&FS achieved financal closure for this project in Jan this year and construction should have started immediately there after....appreciate any updates.

Not recently, but I had travelled on this road in the month of april from Miryalaguda to Narketpally, road construction had started, the progress was good from Miryalaguda outskirts upto Nalgonda bypass road (Narketpally end). Also there is a overpass/flyover u/c on the outskirts of Narketpally, built by GMR, where the NH 9 (old no) narketpally bypass crosses this road. With this we can bypass the Narketpally town while travelling in between Hyderabad - Nalgonda side.

The ROB may have a ways to go, but I can see that Lodha Belezza's really dominating the Kukatpally skyline. How tall are those three buildings ATM?
