I like the design!! I believe it will be a good transition from the Pearls down to the Oyster Box.

It will complement the pier as well. On the one side of the pier you have the Pearls and on the other side the Beverly Hills hotel, maybe not that prominent but in a similar style.

I agree with the idea of a snack bar or something on the promenade, but I would rather prefer classy shops and street cafes down the road leading to the pier to combine the village shopping with the promenade. The new Pearls shopping centre will be on the one side of that road I believe, so it would be ideal to have shops and restaurants on the other side as well.

the building on the otherside of the pearls that you are talking about is a hotch potch. the site came up for auction a few years ago and while the offer was high the owner turned it down. It will be redeveloped into a large tower/retail development in the years ahead no doubt

This is a nice, sympathetic expansion - I bet the old house got a mint when they sold - also large!

I follow construction projects until they go out to tender and I contact them to see if they need any construction people or sub contract people.

I wonder when work on this will start? I would be certain they would be planning for a completion before next summer

The Beverly Hills Hotel at Umhlanga Rocks is a mere 20-minute’s drive from Durban along a sub-tropical drive. With hard-to-match views of the Indian Ocean and miles of unspoilt beaches, this fine hotel is the perfect location to unwind and relax in first class surroundings. The hotel enjoys strong popularity among both international and South Africa travellers who want to be pampered and enjoy excellent service.

An attractive open plan reception area leading to the foyer welcomes you to the Beverley Hills. The reception area’s soft pastel colour scheme enhances the fresh atmosphere, adding a magical quality to the sound and sight of the ocean.

The glorious setting and fine range of facilities allow guests to indulge and enjoy all that this hotel has to offer - from the comfort of the guest rooms to the simple joy of basking in the sunshine at the outdoor pool terrace.
