Distant mileage signposts to Scottish cities and towns

I created a similar thread to this some time ago in the Birmingham subforum. Using either Google Street View, photos or simply your memory, share with us any long-distance mileage signposts to any cities or towns in Scotland.

For example, this sign on the Fort William bypass says "Glasgow 104" and I know somewhere on the M6 around Carlisle both Glasgow and Edinburgh are signposted as being 100 miles away.

As a help, on the other thread we worked out that a lot of the time these mileage signs come just after junctions and roundabouts on main roads.

So over to you, if this interests anyone other than me.

I know a 125

Also a 136 which would probably take some beating, I'll try and get some photos of that one!

My initial thought upon seeing this thread was 'how sad!' Then it got me thinking lol

Perth 111

If only Glasgow and Edinburgh were signposted.

Campbeltown - the only town where you have to go way up north to go way down south. And it's such a small town to be signposted from so far away, but I guess it's because it's a sort of important end-of-the-road destination.

My Kyle one isn't working
Anyway, not a mileage signpost, but certainly my favourite road sign:

True but completely trivial story. My mate's ancient Cavalier broke down at the very summit of that pass between Applecross and Kishorn, which I believe is the highest road in the UK, with smoke comically erupting from the bonnet. Compassionately, those of use travelling in my car flicked him and his passengers the V's on the way past. I gather they had to wait a long time for the AA.

Well I managed to get a google streetview pic of the 136 but it sort of overlaps the numbers so is not very clear.

This is at the other end of the Campbeltown sign I posted above.

So the people of Campbeltown have to drive nearly 140 miles to get to Glasgow yet I've just worked out that it's only 60 miles as the crow flies!

This one is bound to get you excited Butters, taken just a mile away from our very own MacCoinnich's motherland.

That's great. Are Highland cows known to wander on roads?

Until about 5 years ago, they used to wander the streets of Plockton. I grew up chasing cows out of my garden with a shinty stick. My mother lost a lot of prize cabbages to those cows.

That is the most brilliantly Highland thing I have ever heard MacCoinnich.

LOL what a strange thread. There are a few 100+ signs in the Inverness area. I'm sure Perth is 126 from the Cromarty Bridge near Dingwall.

Best one I've seen was in Australia was when I was leaving Sydney heading up the East Coast and Brisbane was listed as 736 Kilometres (about 450 miles). Got a picture of it on a cd somewhere.
