Algiers, Capital city of Algeria

Algiers ælˈdʒɪərz, is the capital and largest city of Algeria and the largest of the Maghreb. According to the 2010 census, the population of the city proper was 2,270,570 and that of the urban agglomeration was 5,120,630.

The modern part of the city is built on the level ground by the seashore; the old part, the ancient city of the deys, climbs the steep hill behind the modern town and is crowned by the casbah or citadel, 400 feet (122 m) above the sea. The casbah and the two quays form a triangle.

Afin de figurer dans la liste des villes ou l'architecture a un sens, l'Algerie se doit de confier certains des projets developpes sur son territoire a des architectes qui vont marquer le 21eme siecle. Je n'ai rien contre l'immense talent de Niemeyer ou Chavanne, bien au contraire, mais il nous faut du sang neuf (Zaha Hadid, PDM & HDM, Koolhaas, Zhang see...) afin de propulser Alger dans le rang des capitales ou il y a des choses avoir (architecture tours: moorish, colonial, modern). Les architectes ci-dessous peuvent nous y aider:
