These walls were once plastered and painted with artwork right? Does any of that still survive? Also, what was the furnishing like inside the palaces and temples?

to my knowledge, Puuc Buildings were not plasterd, but were surely painted. and the interior of these Puuc Buildings were plain vaulted rooms.

Hey man! What a thread!

One of the BEST THREADS IN SSC!!! For sure! Since I was a little child I love the Pre-Columbian civilizations, sorry that Brazil had just some semi-nomadic and nomadic tribes with no stone constructions.

What a heritage Mexico and Central America have! I become totally fascinated with the design, construction organization, details and imposing aspect from this buildings. Even now, some of them just ruins remind us from this powerful civilizations.

This constructions and sculptures are so powerful then some even think that aliens build it (Erich von Däniken, The gods were astronauts).

Weird and complex desings and giant buildings, palaces... wow, your thread is really breathtaking... i really wish to know these places!!!

Adrian - how did the common people live? What kind of houses did they have? Did they have a separate area of the city with dwellings? Usually in Asia and Europe the citadel is separate from the main residential and commercial areas of the city.
