ya underestimate the city planning. City planning makes Singapore the best skyline in South East Asia without any super tall, city planning makes KL and Manila become shit when they stand next to London or Paris

ya also underestimate the value of architecture. ya can say that Manila has more skyscrapers than London but a bunch of concrete rubbish can never compete against a skyscraper like The Gherkin or Tour First

isaidso, please allow me to post and quote your DATA?

Manila doesn't have a height. She doesn't have a supertall right now.
The tallest tower is only 241m(London's tallest is 235m.)
Also, there are only 7 buildings over 200m+ in Manila.

I mean, there is not much gap between Manila and London.

I think KL's cityplanning is quite good as a tropical forest garden city.
Also, Manila's skyscrapers are not concrete rubbish. I notice that some of buildings in Manila are quite nice.

Guys, please calm down.
I think there is no such a thing like the best skyline in the world.
Because people's taste are different.
and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

New york's skyline is wonderful. But I don't want to see similar skylines in the other cities in the world.
Intead, I want to see cities with characterstically different skylines in their own ways.

Sure! Data doesn't tell the whole story, but it doesn't lie either. London is a great city, but it really can't be considered one of the world's great skyline cities. Maybe 20 years from now things it will deserve consideration. Same goes for Manila.

we're not talking about single scrapers,,,we're talking about over-all skyline.take a look at dubai and hong kong's case,,the data shows dubai having the most number of scrapers compared to HK but dubai's scrapers are scatterd compared to hong kong's compact scrapers creating an impressive skyline(in fact, some people say the best)compare dubai to chicago, the same thing goes.chicago is more compact than dubai(but surely, few more years from now, dubai may take the crown)on the other hand,, manila may not have much 200+M scrapers but it has a lot of at least more than
170+M scrapers,it also has the density.in londons case, its scrapers are not that much and they are scattered creating a not so distinc skyline.
supretalls in manila are on the way,a lot of supertalls are under construction in the metro.well,i dont know about london though.!!also, london's over-all skyline is flat and so to paris. but one thing is sure for me,metro manila's skyline is one of the best!!!

I am not talking about skyscrapers.
I am ALSO talking ABOUT SKYLINE.

I just point out that Manila doesn't have a height with not many over 200m buldings.

Also, London has more distinct and recognizable skyline with historic architectures, (skyline is accentulated with historical buldings.) at least to me while Manila's skyline is not that recognazable to me, just like any asian cities.

As for supertalls, there are lots of supertalls on the way in many cities of the world, including London and Paris too.

Anyway, Manila has a great potential.

ahhh,,,Okay,,,,
in manila though,,the long been tallest(which is a 200+M) is already surpassed by an underconstruction supertall(bound to stand @300+M) but its not an iconic one,,its a residencial building,,,however, a lot of more than 300+M are on their way,,,the metro is sure to have the height in a few more years,,,,
BTW,,maybe i'm not facsinated by historical structure thats why for me,much of european skylines doesn't have the appeal to me,,,hehe...i mean,i dont really like old structures in fact, i hate them,,,hehehe...but i dont hate london or paris or any european cities.......

yeah,,there are many supertalls that's on their way all over the world,,,,,,,,
one thing is sure also,,,,,,,,,,,,the world for humans will get higher and higher............thanks..

if this should be an objective list, the top should be
1. Hong Kong
2. New York
3. Chicago
4. Shanghai
5. Dubai (tall right, but lacks density... maybe in a few years it could rank higher)
-----end of list-----

but if this is best skyline (of personal taste) then my list would be
1. Hong Kong
2. New York
3. Chicago
4. Shanghai
5. Singapore
6. Sydney & Toronto
7. Moscow (i don't know why)
8. Manila
9. Panama
10. Dubai
