You can exclude me, I love China's Olympic, that said, I also love Sydney's version.

Which other countries do you want to see, many other countries capable of hosting an Olympic has host it multiple time, China's sport has just begin to dominate the world, and its financial capability have also just begin to dominate the world, you will expect to see more international event take place in China.

I think I will live to see China do it the 3rd time.

I am no expert in AG, but I'll try to answer your questions.

1. The total budget for the opening and closing ceremonies plus the firework show is RMB 380 million, about $ 57 million. It is not disclosed how much the opening ceremony alone cost.

2. 8 pm on Oct 27th (Beijing Time)

Why do the gold winners keep biting their medals? Do they think they are getting 100% gold-bullion medals?

Goes to show how dumb athletes generally are!!

Apart from the hard work of organizers and excellent performance of many athletes, there are some problems reported by Chinese media. I am only posting these negative news in the hope that they can further improve themselves if they are going for the more prestigous target.

http://news.sina.com.cn/c/sd/2010-11...21474309.shtml (in Chinese)
The free metro ride program for Asiad was haulted after five days (supposed to be a month), due to unexpected huge crowds almost paralyzing the whole metro system.

http://yayun2010.ifeng.com/chinanews...136251_0.shtml (in Chinese)
Ticketing system is abused by ticket scalpers, and many people were unable to buy the tickets at face value.

http://yayun2010.sina.com.cn/o/2010-...75315454.shtml (in Chinese)
Hongkong table tennis players were unable to take their scheduled bus.

http://opinion.globaltimes.cn/voice/2010-11/592422.html
The Chinese state news agency Xinhua journalist Yang Ming wrote an article saying China winning the most gold medals is "an irony and a shame", considering "people's health is obviously deteriorating". Of course that sparked a debate. This is not Guangzhou's problem, but it is among the most talked negative news.

Guangzhou style hair cutting is popular all over the country. I'm happy the athletes and visitors can enjoy that!

I kind of understand what you mean, but you need to consider this:
- Everytime China puts on 'this kind of ceremony' they represent different aspects of their history and culture. None of what Gz had would have been in Beijing 2008 or Shangdong (china games) 2009 or even Expo 2010 shanghai. You know that right?

- LED screens are going to pop up everwhere from now one. China is a major researcher and producer of them. In fact, you would probably see them in London as well

- I like the fireworks, its different from the usual 'China' fireworks, they have different styles this time

-About the skyline, no other sporting even has had such a colourful skylines as their background.

Calm down. It is justs a symbolic gesture. It is no different than giving a thump up, V, or fore finger.

its good to see so many countries getting at least one medal. so they rank it by gold first, then silver then bronze? Don't like the fact that Vietnam is 20th when they have 22 medals but none gold
