lol, erm...ok. I'm trying to be nicer on these forums, so I'll just say this. First of all, it's more like 10 counties. Second, I said I've spent extensive time in only those listed places. 'Extensive' meaning driving up and down every single street in the county...in fact, I probably know them better than you do. The only part of NJ I haven't been to is the [far] southern part.

Read more carefully. Middlesex, Somerset, and Trenton...up and down every single street. I've driven through more than that though.

What's with people calling me a liar on this thread? Just because you don't agree doesn't make me a liar.

...and nexis, I've told you what my job is. You know I'm a digital mapper and that I do in fact drive up and down every single street. I see neighborhoods in cities that most locals don't even see.

So did you see the rich areas in those counties , they are not gritty.....probably the richest homes you'll every see. Each county has a rich area , so if you said you've been to every county and still have a negative opinion you sir are a lair.....so i guess you only saw our Urban areas.....not all of them are gritty......Trenton has gritty areas , but not every part is gritty....

Yes I did, and no they are not. What's your point?

So? I don't like rich areas...those are (for me) the most boring parts of cities.

So a few mansions are supposed to change my opinion about the entire state? Every single place in the world has rich and poor, NJ isn't anything special because it has a few rich areas.

Wrong again.

not all of them are gritty
Obviously.

I was recently in Nashville. Nice place, although it really just felt like a small town. The people were very nice and the broadway is a fun street.

No i'm tired of ppl putting down NJ and for no reason.....i used to put down LA , but theres always more then what you hear and see on TV..... People need to grow up and look up the facts and that is why i don't believe you explored my state. Only 3 Counties are gritty , the rest are nice.....

j/k... "High crime". I've never been to New Orleans to know whether or not it's boring.

No offense, but why did you ask for his review if you don't feel he's qualified to provide one? And more importantly, why did you risk soliciting his opinion at all knowing that not all of his past opinions have exactly been glowing. If you were only looking for compliments, maybe it would have been easier to just come out and ask for them.

I can understand feeling defensive if someone says something you don't feel is accurate about your state, but this thread is becoming a bit derailed. lol

Unfortunately I never had enough time to check out Cali or Medellin though.

I agree with you there, easily beats Paris as far as amenities plus the people are way friendlier (of course I am biased). You should also definately check out Mendoza when you get a chance.

South America Rules!!!
I agreed on Buenos Aires, Argentina...that's my hometown...everytime I go home to visit...I find new places to explore...especially around Puerto Madero area.

Colombia.......I don't know...I would need to visit to see what I think...but I don't know...why risk it...when I can go to a more safer country.

Last place I went to was Washington DC. Interesting city. Great museums, horrible weather, and fantastic architecture (from the Mall to Georgetown, anyways). That trip also completely shattered what little faith I had in our current government. I'd recommend not visiting in the summer when it's horribly hot and humid and all the tourists are roaming about.

Colombia has become significantly safer since the 80's-90's since all of the guerillas/paramilitary groups were either disbanded marginalized into the most remote regions of the country.

Personally I have found Colombia, or more specifically Bogota and Cartagena to be pretty safe overall as there are litteraly cops EVERYWHERE. Honestly as long as you take the same precautions as you would in any urban area, I don't forsee any problems.

Even Juarez ain't that bad as long as you stick to the main drags and don't mess around after dark.

Except the murder rate in Bogota and Cartagena isn't even in the same ballpark as Juarez and I did not see any drug cartels engage in armed shootouts or driving around the cities in armoured vehicles during my stay there. But yes that rings true in any city for the most part.
