Access Routes

The government is committed to a range of transport infrastructure projects to improve mobility and link different parts of Recife to Cidade da Copa.
Over R$1,5bn in public investments

› Cosme e Damião integrated metro terminal
› Airport footbridge
› North/South corridor
› East/West corridor
› Cidade da Copa metro branch
› Via Mangue
› Widening of BR 408 and BR 232 highways

Smart City

Get to know Latin America’s first smart city.

Cidade da Copa (or World Cup City) was born intelligent. Planned from the outset with integrated technology solutions, the area will have efficient security, mobility, communication and sustainability systems. The design ensures a balance between urban development and the conservation of natural resources.

Aligned with the public policies of the Pernambuco State Government, the new urban centre will provide leverage for the development of the West Recife metropolitan area, creating Brazil’s greatest World Cup legacy.

Security

Cidade da Copa will be monitored 24 hours a day by security cameras linked to the Pernambuco Integrated Command and Control Centre, which will be set up in the region. The monitoring service will enable, if necessary, preventive action to control risk situations.

Mobility

Incentives for public transport and exclusive lanes for cyclists and pedestrians will make Cidade da Copa a reference in mobility and quality of life. The whole area has been conceived to enable a five-minute journey, on foot or by bicycle, from its centre to each of the different sectors. Motorists will also be benefitted by the intelligent traffic system, which can change the direction of traffic flow according to need and indicate the best routes

Environmental Conservation

Almost half of the region where Cidade da Copa is being built will be reserved for public parks, green and open spaces, totaling an area approximately 15 times that of Recife’s main park, Jaqueira. This will provide a natural retreat and quality of life that has become rare in major urban areas. The banks of the River Capibaribe and other watercourses will also be prioritised, forming a scenario that favors the use of public places and brings people closer to nature.

Living

Cidade da Copa is a place to live well. Imagine a safe, vibrant, sustainable city, with security monitored 24 hours per day, schools in the neighbourhood and inviting areas to enjoy nature. The development will take place in stages and will meet a range of market demands and standards of living.

The idea is to provide quality of life whilst always valuing natural resources. Meanwhile, the areas for contemplation and rest will be integrated with modern security and mobility technology.

Cidade da Copa represents the advent of a new, totally planned urban centre with integrated services. A location structured according to the modern vision of a connected, sustainable city, built for the future – with everything in one place.

Working

With a vocation for developing new businesses, the region has an area reserved for modern office buildings and commercial towers equipped with high technology. Careful integration with green and open areas will be an attraction that enhances the quality of life at work too.

Cidade da Copa is expected to be born with a complete fibre optics network installed, enabling rapid adaptation to new technologies as they become available. This is another positive point for businesses that set up in the location.

Security, proximity to commercial centres and integration with the public transport system will make life easier for those who work in Cidade da Copa.

Studying

Surrounded by green spaces, an area of approximately 15 hectares is destined for a modern education campus. The surroundings will be a stimulus for studying and interaction among the students.

The high-quality education campus will enjoy a location that provides both contact with nature and interaction with a dynamic, inspiring environment. There will also be modern laboratories, built-in high technology and facilities such as efficient transport and security systems – the ideal place to educate future generations.

Heaving Fun

Arena Pernambuco
A new entertainment destination will be set up in the heart of Cidade da Copa. As well as Arena Pernambuco, strengthening Pernambuco’s presence on the great spectacle route, the new urban centre will include a leisure complex. The large green area will also be a stimulus for leisure and outdoor sports.

Celebration plaza and indoor Arena
An extension of Arena Pernambuco, the square is the central meeting point for festivals and celebrations. It will also stage artistic and cultural spectacles.

Imagem

The Indoor Arena will be a closed space with capacity for 10 thousand people and facilities for shows and sporting events

Hotels and conventions
Equipped with hotels and convention centres, Cidade da Copa will propel business development in Pernambuco. The project foresees innovative multiuse hospitality and convention complex facilities.

These developments will meet the State’s growing demand for locations to hold events and expand the hotel network.

Entertainment and commerce

A large entertainment and shopping district will be stimulated by bars, restaurants, cinemas, supermarket and shopping centre. The new concept of Cidade da Copa will benefit these areas by valuing open-air locations and the natural landscape.

Cinemas
Shopping Centre
Bars and restaurants
Supermarket
Kiosks
Mixed-use areas

Do JC Online

Personally I don't mind that people write in their mother tongue. It's takes less than two seconds to translate on Chrome (Right click, 'Translate to English'). Even without it, I can even understand what this says, and I've never read the language before.

But for the sake of everyone else, please write in English or use an online translator tool to change your words to English so everyone can easily understand!

Great progress BTW

Portuguese to English by Bing Translator.

Translate into English will duplicate the texts, as Brazilians and foreigners will have to read, the priority is for the local audience. We're making it easier for foreigners to put local event-related materials. Thus, foreigners should translate, which we do by reading texts from international sites.

The link below has an official translation into English and shows several news about all the host cities.
