Virgin operations on the NHS
Quote:
I think this is wrong. If people are so concerned about being outed as not being a virgin then they shouldn't of done the deed in the first place. Their maybe rare occasions where women have been raped or had it broken in other ways, but surely that could be taken into acoount of everything. I think it's about time people in society relised that just because a woman doesn't bleed the first time, it doesn't mean it's not her first time, it's similar to the pull out before you orgasim myth. Their is people out there who cannot get drugs to save or extend their lives because they are too expensive, yet woman in some cases can get these operations. To me it's a form of plastic surgery that should be paid for by the individual having the operation. |

This is a disgrace. Geopolitical correctness gone mad. Why are ill people being allowed to die while at the same time NHS money is spent on lifestyle treatments like this or homeopathy or chiropracty?

NHS should definitely not be paying for this. I am a big believer that the NHS should not be doing anything that isn't necessary for you to live. This includes, possibly controversially, IVF.

Only 118 operations done on the NHS, I can bet most of them were done after rapes or for other abuse victims, I also bet that thousands are probably happening privatley for more egotistical or cultural reasons.

It's a difficult one, but given the way some fringes of religion and society operate for instance, how do you know it isn't necessary for them to live?

These woman should just learn to do the splits to use as an excuse and save both themselves and the NHS a lot of money.

‘The NHS does not fund hymen repair operations for cultural reasons. All operations on the NHS are on the basis of clinical need.
‘Operations to repair the hymen are only carried out exceptionally to secure physical or psychological health.’ The newspapers have combined 2 different situations into one in order to create a story. One is a group of women paying for this procedure in private with their own money or whatever reason. The other is a group of women getting it done for medical reasons, whatever they may be. |

The papers '4k' comes from trawling private cosmetic surgeries for this procedure and finding the most expensive one.
Then all of a sudden the procedure costs '4k'. |
