A 1-star hotel (*). There're of course plenty of hotels near motorways in Ljubljana as it's surrounded with a motorway beltway, so even the center isn't far from a motorway. There're two instantly by a motorway, but they're both luxurious. Actually, even the hotel I mentioned in the previous post is instantly by a motorway, but you have to leave it, it's not at a rest area. But they're planning to build a hotel on the southern bypass at the Barje rest area (possibly luxurious again).

Orbis group belongs to french group named Accor. So they run some hotels using Novotel, Mercure or Ibis brand, but same time they still keep other ones, which they originally opened years ago. Some of them are bit ehmm worn out(although used to be quite comfortable but most refurbished already.

Free Wi-Fi or at least broadband wire is a standard even at 25EUR pensions already, actually if you have to pay for it, than mostly at more up market hotels(like 4* up)..

Typical style of a UK roadside Travelodge

and the slightly more upmarket premier inn.

Actually there is also Hotel Mons on western Ljubljana bypass (4*). It is very expensive, though, one-bed room starts with 112€.

As I wrote at the top of the page, there're 3, also Domina Grand Media Hotel, but that one is even more luxurious and lies by the H3 (which isn't so transit though).

I prefer to camp with a tent when it's possible.

The best and cheapest way to go, though, is if you drive a station wagon. In my Volvo 940, I can put my back seats down and I've got almost 7ft of space. Put an air mattress or thick spread of blankets and I'm good to go... Why spend a hundred or so dollars on a hotel room?
