I don't want to go deeper into politics so please no talk about Mossadeq or anything similar.

And yes, Iraq does get foreign aid from the West such as cars, as compensation for the war.

Iran is completely embargoed by the West and under 4 U.N sanctions, so don't come here and say that Iranian cars are shit just because your american friends just brought you a fresh Chevrolet.

Iranian cars are pretty crappy i agree, but i'm getting fed up with nationalists like sheytanElKebir who thinks that just because Iraq got bombed they need to give him a Mercedes.

i am at a loss to understand that I am:
-a kurd (I must insist on adding samawa and Kufa to the KRG "disputed territories now!)
-a nationalist (see my rather hardnosed view of Iraq's situation vs the sort of emotional delusions that a "nationalist" would come up with)
-want "mercedes cars" as compensation??? (I am at a loss to ask where I wrote such a thing!)
-Iraq is getting cars as aid (from Iran as well as america no less!! can we have Ferraris, the Italians were in Nassiriya after all! )

If you go to the previous page you'll see that i was just pointing out that i find it funny that people in Iraq whine about Iranian cars when in general i can't imagine a country ravaged by war and political instability having the ability to PRODUCE better cars than Iran.

Then all these people started jumping on me, that's why i responded so "hostile".

actually they do produce better cars in Iraq (if you had seen the previous pages). just that the Saipa is cheaper so some poor taxi drivers buy it en masse!

Yes, i saw a few ones on the previous pages, some looked like rip-offs but it's not the look that matters IMO.

The more newer Iranian cars aren't that bad actually to be honest, but just as you mentioned the Saipa is terrible. Luckily they've stopped producing it, but you still see people driving around in them.

Iranian saiba and Chinese cars are bigger models of toy cars found in "dollar store". I don't understand why Iraq even imports their junk.

On of my neighbors in Iraq purchased a Chinese "cherry" pickup truck. The door handle broke because he pulled it too hard, and he had to seal the top with a special material so it wouldn't rust and start leaking. Then a month later he sold it and bought a Chrysler 300m instead.

Actually, SAIPA has made newer cars like the Miniator and are working on numerous models at the moment. The best Iranian cars, however, are made by IKCO. We just sell you the crappiest models

Both models of DENA also have Bluetooth capability. IKCO is also planning on making 10 new models with different variants for each model by 2018. The DENA also sells for $18,000 for the ELX model (luxury model). I'm sorry your poor country has to drive our crappiest cars while we sell our best to Eastern Europe and Russia

they do have the samands in Iraq, as well as peugot roa. they are not so bad. but the saipa is horrendous. for $18k, Iraqis tend to go for Chryslers, toyotas, kias etc... The iranian and chinese car fill the "ultra cheap" niche here which is why they are not imported... not because iranians are "saving it for themselves and europe"... what a completely irrational and illogical statement. You;re the seller for f*cks sake, you WANT to sell the models with higher margins!
