Once I was approached by the same guy, at the same place, with the same "Maktoum bridge directions" story as some months earlier, so even before he could finish his first sentence, I remember why his face was familiar and told him I don't need a suit and he can go to hell.
I had the Italian guy on his way to the airport when I was walking to the office in Tecom. We had them around Glasgow construction sites for a while selling "high value" designer watches you've never heard of and designer leather jackets so I knew the scam well. You need to get ready with the line, "hey, you're the guy that sold me that shit a while ago, give me my money back before I call the police" then enjoy the wheel spin departure as he tries to cover his number plate with dust

The Italian guys are are hitting Media City hard at the moment.

I did hear that they have moved on to pick pocketing as well as a side line.

They got short shrift from me and them bolted when I waved to them at the back of my building a week or so later.

I believe that "eid" means festival, and "mubarak" means blessed.

From the first three lines of wiki...

Quote:
Eid ul-Fitr, Eid al-Fitr, Id-ul-Fitr, or Id al-Fitr (Arabic: ‎عيد الفطر ‘Īdu l-Fiṭr; Arabic pronunciation: [ʕiːd al ˈfɪtˁɾ]), often abbreviated to Eid, is a three-day Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting (sawm). Eid is an Arabic word meaning "festivity,"
Mubarak = congratulations
